33 cars and 8 marques in ADAC GT Masters

ADAC GT Masters is ready with an almost full grid for the 2020 season.

Considering the COVID-19 situation, it’s very well done to have 33 cars on a 34 maximum grid for this years championship.

It will once again be a very good mix of various brands, with Bentley returning to the series, after a few years away. T3 Motorsport will campain one of the British cars, alongside their Audi R8 LMS from past years. Audi is the brand with the most cars entered – 14 out of the 33 entrants are running a car with the four rings on its bonnet.

The defending champions Rutronik Racing are back with two cars, with the exact same driver line-ups. But no team have ever managed to defend their title. It’s amazingly close between all the GT3 cars, and if you are stuck in the gravel just a single time in the season, it could be enough for you to be out of title contention.

Other than Bentley (1) and Audi (14), we will have Ferrari (1), BMW (3), Porsche (4), Lamborghini (3), Corvette (1) and Mercedes (6). The special thing about Mercedes, is that both the “old” version and the Evo will be present in the field. Schütz Motorsport have opted to run to old model for now, but it should be possible to upgrade the chassis to Evo spec, so they might do so later in the year, if they find the budget for it.

The 2020 season of ADAC GT Masters starts on 1-2 August at the Lausitzring.
