Alexander Lynn will be a new driver at Mahindra Racing, for the final six races in Berlin, which will conclude the 2019/20 season.
The Brit replaces Pascal Wehrlein, who left the team in the middle of the COVID-19 induced break, and is currently rumoured to go to Porsche.
Lynn has done 21 Formula E races so far, having raced for DS Techeetah and Jaguar Racing. His best result to date is a sixth position.
Alex Lynn will be teammates with Jerome D’Ambrosio at the Mahindra team, who has had a challenging season. Wehrlein gave them a few positive notes early on, but looking at the points table, they have only claimed 17 points between Wehrlein and D’Ambrosio. As a comparison, the Championship leading team DS Techeetah currently sits on 98 points, just to underline what a troubled 2019/20 season that the Indian team has had.
Alexander Lynn will have a really busy week, since he also will have to participate in the FIA World Endurance Championship at Spa Francorchamps for Aston Martin Racing. The Berlin final i run on 13 August, while the FIA WEC race weekend starts on the same day. But since he is a full season driver, he is likely to get a dispensation, to be able to show up Friday morning, and then do the rest of the race weekend like normal.
The six final races in Berlin will be run from 5 to 13 August 2020.
