Things moving around at BMW and Mahindra

The musical chairs in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship continues at full speed.

We have already heard about Jani being replaced by Wehrlein at Porsche, Bird changing to Jaguar and being replaced by Cassidy, and Mahindra Racing, the now former team of Wehrlein, has signed up one of their drivers for next year.

Alexander Sims will be racing for Mahindra Racing in the upcoming Season 7. Sims has been synonymous with BMW for many years, being a part of their GT3 and GTLM/GTE programmes. He has been racing in Formula E for last few years, but will now move on to be with the Indian Mahindra team.

Mahindra has also announced that Jerome D’Ambrosio will no longer be a part of the team, but their second seat is still open – seat that was filled by Alexander Lynn, once Pascal Wehrlein was pulled out of the car prior to Berlin.

That leaves a spot at BMW i Andretti, which has not yet been filled. The team has announced that Maximilian Günther will continue racing for them in the coming season.

Season 7 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship is scheduled to start in January 2021.
