RLR MSport has announced their two drivers for the Road To Le Mans race, which runs as a support race to the 24 Hours of Le Mans next week.
Canadian James Dayson will be joined by Danish youngster Malthe Jakobsen.
They are paired up in the European Le Mans Series too, but the Le Mans call came very late for Jakobsen. He didn’t expect to go, only a week ago, but after the good pace by him in the ELMS this year, the team was very keen on getting him in the car, so they have to move very swiftly on the sponsor hunt and managed to get their part of the budget together.
The other contestants in the race are not yet announced, so it’s impossible to say who will show up. The event does, however, count towards the Michelin Le Mans Cup, so we should expect all the cars entered in that championship, at least.
The Road To Le Mans is two races of 55 minutes each, with a driver change at the halfway point. The first race is run Friday afternoon, while Race 2 will be run Sunday morning, prior to the 24-hour race.
