Pilet replaces Merriman

Patrick Pilet has gotten an unexpected call up in the 11th hour.

The French driver has been called up as replacement Dwight Merriman, who has been declared unfit to race, following his FP2 accident onboard the IDEC Sport #17 yesterday.

Pilet is normally a Porsche works driver and should have been in a 911 RSR, until Porsche Sport North America chose to pull their two entries from this year’s race.

Patrick Pilet will get his first taste of the LMP2 car in this morning’s FP4.
