Castroneves replaces Askew

Helio Castroneves has been called in as a replacement at Arrow McLaren SP, at the upcoming Harvest Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Oliver Askew felt unwell after the Mid-Ohio race weekend, with balance- and coordination problems, and was then checked by the doctors. He was then deemed unfit to race the two races next weekend in the NTT IndyCar Series. There are no further details about the exact reasoning for those issues with the American driver.

The AMSP team has made a deal with Helio Castroneves, who usually races for Team Penske, and he will replace Askew at the two races.

Helio will race car #7, while Patricio O’Ward will race #5, just like normal.

The races are run on Friday 2 October and Saturday 3 October.

Other than the two Indy races, the season finale will be in St. Petersburg, Florida, but that’s not until the end of October, with Askew hopefully having the chance of being fit again for that race.
