Performance Tech Motorsports has also shown interest in the new LMP3 category. They are currently racing in the IMSA Prototype Challenge with three Ligier JS P3 cars, i.e. the first generation of LMP3 cars. They haven’t announced how many, nor which brand of car that they will bring, but just that are planning to participate next year. The team is currently racing in the LMP2 category, where the entry numbers are getting slimmer and slimmer.

United Autosports have just confirmed today, that they are planning a two-car Ligier JS P320 entry at the Daytona 24 Hours, but without any driver names just yet. UA has competed at the race before, in both LMP2 and the former DP category, where it’s often quite some all-star line-up. That is not possible to do in the LMP3 category, which is mainly for amateur drivers.

The 24 hours race is run at Daytona International Speedway on 30-31 January 2021, with the ROAR being run one week prior to that.
