Inter Europol finally in USA

Inter Europol Competition has been trying several times, but it will finally happen soon.

They will present at the Petit Le Mans event at  Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in two weeks time.

The Polish team will go to the race with a brand new line up. Kuba Smiechowski will (of course) be racing the race, since he always is present, no matter if the team runs in the European Le Mans Series or Asian Le Mans Series, but he will be joined by Rob Hodes and Austin McCusker.

Hodes will have his debut in an LMP2 car, after doing some seasons in the LMP3 category, where he most recently has been racing for Nielsen Racing in both Asian LMS, ELMS and Michelin Le Mans Cup.

McCuster has plenty of LMP3 experience too, but he is also an LMP2 rookie. He was part of the team in Asia last winter, but his Prototype highlight was winning the IMSA Prototype Challenge LMP3 Championship in 2019.

The team will have a steep learning curve, with a very different car. They have raced Ligier cars in both LMP3 and LMP2 until now, but it will be an ORECA 07 Gibson for the USA race. The team doesn’t explain why this is the case, nor if they have rented the car, that already was present in the USA. They are currently the only Ligier team in the ELMS, so the race could very well work as an evaluation of the car model towards the 2021 season.

The Petit Le Mans 10 hours will be run on Saturday on 17 October.
