Corvette Racing will be starting the 2021 season with at least one new driver on the team. The American team has announced, that Oliver Gavin no longer will be a part of the team as a full-season driver, once the season finale at Sebring has been run in two weeks time. The announcement is made one year after Jan Magnussen ended his work for the team. A common theme between Oliver and Jan, is that both have had several seasons without a single victory. European Le Mans Series ran their last qualifying of the season at midday at the Portimao track in Portugal. The ten GTE cars started the session. There were two more cars in the class that wanted some extra practice before the season finale of FIA WEC in Bahrain in a fortnight. Those two were Gulf Racing Porsche #86 and AF Corse Ferrari #88. WRC Rally Ypres cancelled due to Covid19.

The ongoing global Covid19 pandemic has once again struck the 2020 World Rally Championship. Belgium’s first time hosting the WRC, with Rally Ypres playing host on 19th-22nd November would have been the first full tarmac event on the calendar. The event characterised by fast flowing stages around the flats of the Belgian countryside. Event organisers following consultation with the Belgian authorities were left with no choice but to pre-emptively cancel the event.
