Bamber continues in the USA

We are still going to see Earl Bamber in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2021, despite Porsche closing down their GTLM programme.

The former Le Mans winner, World Champion and IMSA champion has joined Team Hardpoint for a GTD programme.

Team Hardpoint has slowed moved up the IMSA ranks, with them participating at the majority of the 2020 GTD series. Audi has been their choice of car so far, but the team will change to a Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Rob Ferriol and Earl Bamber will share the GT3 car at all the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship rounds, and will also have a car running in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America.

Bamber will race the car at all rounds, but will also be involved in the shape of Earl Bamber Motorsport, which has his brother as team boss. EBM has run in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia for several years, before expanding to GT3 at races like Bathurst 12h and Spa 24h, and now expanding to the USA.

The 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season will start at Daytona International Speedway, at the end of January.
