United Autosports will return to the Asian Le Mans Series, when the 2021 season will be run in Abu Dhabi.
The Anglo/American team will enter two Ligier JS P320 LMP3 cars, with Jim McGuire being the first confirmed driver.
The team raced in the 2018/19 season with two LMP2 cars and two LMP3 cars, winning the LMP2 title with Paul Di Resta and Phil Hanson.
The 2020/21 season was scheduled to start at Suzuka, but those plans were changed to an all-January schedule with races at Sepang and Buriram due to the COVID-19 situation.
Those plans changed again a few weeks ago, when the F1 circuit Abu Dhabi was announced as the sole venue. Four rounds will be run within a couple of weeks, so the teams don’t have to travel between the rounds, but can go to Abu Dhabi and stay there until the Championship has concluded.
United Autosports already has experience from the circuit, having participated in the 12 hours race, in previous seasons.
