Rule changes in FIA WEC, ELMS and LMC for 2021

The FIA World Endurance Championship, European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup will introduce a few changes to their regulations in 2021. Qualifying race ahead of Rolex 24

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season 2021 will start off with something brand new. The traditional qualifying for the Rolex 24 at Daytona – the current official name of the Daytona 24 hours – will be replaced by a qualifying race, as they do for the Daytona 500 race. That part will happen during the ROAR test, where a 100-minute race will determine the starting grid for the 24 hours race the following week. AXR with extra car at Daytona

The Action Express Racing will enter an extra car at the Daytona 24 hours next month. The team has made a deal with Hendrick Motorsports, collecting something of an all-star team of drivers for the Cadillac DPi car. None other than recently retired from NASCAR driver Jimmie Johnson will lead the effort. He will be joined by Simon Pagenaud, Kamui Kobayashi and Mike Rockenfeller.
