Dalton Kellett and Conor Daly will also participate in the NTT IndyCar Series 2021.
The two drivers have extended the contracts with their two respective teams, that they raced for in 2020.
Kellett has even gotten his contract updated to a full season, so he has the A. J. Foyt Enterprises car #4 all to himself. He was in the #14 through some of the season, that he shared with Tony Kanaan and Sebastien Bourdais, while Charlie Kimball had #4 to himself.
Kellett made his Indycar debut in 2020, but had a really tough season, not really getting up to speed. He raced in eight rounds, and his best result was 20th. To his defence, 2020 wasn’t really great for the team, but Kimball did grab two top-10 finishes, and Bourdais raced to P4 in the season finale.
There is no news yet regarding Charlie Kimball for 2021.
Conor Daly has extended his contract with Ed Carpenter Racing, so he once again will race #20 on the road- and street courses, while the boss takes over the car for the ovals. Daly will, however, race the Indy 500 for the team as well, when the team enters a third car.
He did add up to a full season in 2020, by racing the ovals for Carlin, substituting for Max Chilton, who doesn’t really like the oval. Carlin hasn’t confirmed their 2021 plans, so we don’t know if the Irish-American racer will have the same deal for the upcoming season.
Ironically, he did have his best results on the ovals, even grabbing a Pole at the Iowa oval, in the middle of the season.
The NTT IndyCar Series 2021 season is scheduled to start on the first weekend of March in St. Petersburg, Florida.
