Jones returns to Dale Coyne

Ed Jones will return to the NTT IndyCar Series for 2021, where he once again will race for Dale Coyne Racing.

Jones will be racing car #18, which is the Sealmaster sponsored Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser Sullivan Honda car.

The driver from Dubai made his Indycar debut in 2017 for DCR, where he won the Rookie Championship. That resulted in a contract with Chip Ganassi Racing , where he didn’t deliver at all. He only got a single season by them, before getting a road- and street course plus Indy 500 deal at Ed Carpenter Racing, where he shared the car with team boss Ed Carpenter.

Dale Coyne Racing has not held back on the driver changes either. Sebastien Bourdais had settled into the #18, when he suddenly was fired at the end of 2019. Santino Ferrucci took over the car for 2020, but had a very disappointing season, so he is out of an Indycar drive, and will aim at NASCAR instead

Ed Jones won the European F3 Open Championship in 2013, and the Indy Lights Championship in 2016, and will try to restart his Indycar career this year.

He will be racing this weekend at the 24-hour race in Daytona for Scuderia Corsa, with the NTT IndyCar Series season starting on 18 April at Barber Motorsports Park, Alabama.
