Algarve Pro Racing is slowly getting their seats filled up for the European Le Mans Series 2021.
The Portuguese outfit, run by Samantha and Stewart Cox, will enter a total of three cars in the ELMS, with car #24 being run under their own name.
Ferdinand Habsburg, Diego Menchaca, and Richard Bradley will be the three drivers on the car.
Habsburg is a well-known name at APR. The Austrian won the Asian Le Mans Series with the team this February, and will be one of the drivers with the most LMP2 mileage in an LMP2 car during 2021. He will be also be racing for Team WRT in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Menchaca is a Mexican driver, but he quickly moved to the European single-seater scene, running things like Formula Renault UK and Euroformula F3 Open, before he had a GP3 run in 2018. He then moved on to sportscar racing in the Blancpain series, which is now known as GT World Challenge. This will be the first time for him, to race an LMP2 car.
Richard Bradley has probably done more kilometers in an LMP2 car, than some Formula 1 driver will ever do for a full career. The Brit has previously raced for KCMG, Manor, and Duqueine Team only to name a few, including a Le Mans win, but is ready for a move to APR now.
This car could very well be a Dark Horse in LMP2 this year, but that is all depending on the speed of Menchaca. His two co-drivers have proved to be very fast behind the wheel of an ORECA 07.
The drivers in car 25, which will run in G-Drive Racing colours, are already announced to be John Falb, Rui Andrade de Pinto, and Pietro Fittipaldi, while Roman Rusinov will be joined by Franco Colapinto and a yet unnamed third driver.
The European Le Mans Series 2021 is scheduled to start on 18 April at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain.
