Glickenhaus ready with one car for Portimao

Glickenhaus Racing is ready for the FIA World Endurance Championship round at Portimao, which will run in one month’s time.

The team will enter car #709, and has opted to put Ryan Briscoe, Richard Westbrook, and Romain Dumas in the car for the 8-hour race, at the Portuguese venue.

The plan is to enter both cars in the 6 Hours of Monza, which is the final race prior to the 24 Hours of Le Mans in August.

It’s been a long process, to get both cars ready. Their first car had an accident during the initial testing, prior to car number two being built. So the whole programme got delayed, resulting in the team opting to miss out on the 6 Hours of Spa Francorchamps. Once they enter a race, the car homologation will be locked in for five years, so they wouldn’t be able to solve any potential fundamental design errors of the cars, if they had done so.

The 8 Hours of Portimao will run on Sunday 13 June 2021.
