AXR with Derani, Nunez and Conway in 2022

Action Express Racing has announced their 2022 plans.

Pipo Derani will continue with the team, while Tristan Nunez will be the new full-season driver.

The team has extended with Mike Conway, so he will be racing the four endurance races in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship 2022.

The sponsorship deal with Whelen Engineering continues, so the Cadillac DPi-V.R #31 once again will have the red livery.

This will be a new experience for Nunez, who has raced for Mazda Motorsports in the past. They cut down from two to a single car following the 2021 season, and he unfortunately lost out on a drive. So he found at WIN Autosport in the LMP2 category, where he currently sits second in the championship.

Derani has shared #31 with Felipe Nasr for the last few seasons, but he has written a contract with another team, that is expected to be announced in the very near future.

Derani, Nasr, and Conway will share the car one more time, when the season finale in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is run on 13 November 2021.
