AF Corse with a single car at Daytona

AF Corse will run a single car at the 24 hours race at Daytona International Speedway 2022.

The team was also entered in 2021, with Nicklas Nielsen and Simon Mann returning to the team. They will have Toni Vilander and Luis Perez-Companc as teammates this year.

Nielsen is worked driver at Ferrari, and is one of the most successful drivers at the Italian brand, throughout the past few seasons. Nielsen came to the team in 2019, and has since then won the ELMS GTE title in 2019, and the FIA WEC GTE Am category in the 2019/20 and 2021 seasons, in addition to the GT World Challenge title in 2021.

Mann is a Silver-ranked driver, but on his way up the GT ranks. He had a start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2021 in GTE Am, and will most likely repeat that in 2022.

Vilander is a bit of a veteran in American motorsport, despite his Finnish background. He raced for Risi Competizione for several years, and has more lately been called in for various races, when somebody needed a rapid Ferrari driver.

Perez-Companc is been away from the limelight for a few years, with his son’s racing taking the priority. Luis was usually a good and solid Bronze rated driver, but will most likely need to get a few cobwebs blown away.

The team will run in the GTD category, for the Am drivers at Daytona.

The Rolex 24 at Daytona will run on 29-30 January 2022.
