Acura has shown the first pictures of their new ARX-06 LMDh car.
They have however decided to put on a camouflage design, so it’s not possible to see too many details. But the car looks very much like the current ARX-05, which they are competing with in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The car will be build by ORECA, just like their current 05 model is. That one has won the IMSA championship in both 2019 and 2020 with Team Penske, before they handed the cars over to Meyer Shank Racing and Wayne Taylor Racing.
MSR and WTR will run the cars in the IMSA for the 2023 as well. Both teams has expressed a wish to go to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but if they are allowed to do so, and if that will be in 2023, is not confirmed yet. The cars are capable of competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship, but there is no news either about a potential programme.
Acura is the North American branch of Honda. They are also competing with in IMSA with the NSX GT3 model, which runs under the Honda banner in the rest of the world.
The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship 2023 starts the season off in January, with the Daytona 24 Hours.
