Lamborghini confirms Ligier collaboration

Lamborghini has confirmed their upcoming LMDh car will a collaboration with Ligier.

The French manufacturer was officially without any partners in the upcoming LMDh regulation until now, but they did have the Italian brand on their hands.

It’s just under a month ago, that Lamborghini announced their LMDh programme, which will be totally independent of the one that Porsche is doing. Their sister brand has chosen Multimatic as the chassis manufacturer, and will be running a completely different engine.

Today’s press release confirms that we will see the new Lamborghini in both FIA World Endurance Championship and in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The teams are not announced yet – but the programmes won’t be running until 2024 anyway.

We currently have Acura, Alpine, BMW, Cadillac, Lamborghini and Porsche confirmed so far in the new LMDh, with everybody except Alpine and Lamborghini running from 2023 onwards. It is however not fully confirmed, who will run in the FIA WEC, but everybody is expected to do IMSA at least.
