Cadillac reveals the first pictures

Cadillac has revealed the first concept pictures of their new LMDh car.

The car will be built by Dallara, just like the current cars are, and will have a brand new 5,5 liter engine, which will be connected to the standardized hybrid system, which all the LMDh cars will have to run.

The team will compete in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship, where Chip Ganassi Racing and Action Express Racing have been chosen to run the cars. CGR has already doubled their IMSA effort this year, where they are entering two cars instead of one, plus they are running under the Cadillac Racing name, instead of their own name, which is very untraditional for the team.

The design is a bit of the same as the “slick” lines of their current DPi car, where the car will get some similarities with their street cars.

The testing of the new car is rumoured to just have started, but it needs to be ready for the 24 Hours of Daytona in January 2023, where it will have its race debut, together with all the other LMDh cars from Acura, BMW and Porsche, who will run in 2023 as well. Alpine and Lamborghini will be ready with their cars from 2024.
