Aitken and Dixon called in for Cadillac

Cadillac has got all their drivers sorted for the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Action Express Racing will run Pipo Derani and Alexander Sims for the full season, while Jack Aitken will help them out at the endurance rounds. That will be a brand new taste for the young Brit, who has previous sportscar racing experience. He raced the 2022 season for Racing Team Turkey in the European Le Mans Series, and has GT3 experience on his CV as well. And oh yeah – he has a single Formula 1 race for Williams Racing in Bahrain 2020, where he substituted for George Russel, who was called up for Mercedes-AMG, subbing for Lewis Hamilton.

Chip Ganassi Racing has chosen Scott Dixon again – because, why not? There are no clashes with his regular NTT IndyCar Series programme in 2023, which was the case in 2022 at Sebring. He has won pretty much everything he has raced, including four overall wins at the 24 hours race in Daytona. He will share the car with Sebastien Bourdais and Renger van der Zande, who are the full-season drivers, with Dixon helping out at the endurance rounds.

Chip Ganassi Racing will also run their FIA World Endurance Championship car at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, where Earl Bamber, Richard Westbrook and Alexander Lynn will have a warm-up race, prior to their FIA WEC season starting at Sebring in March.

The testing has started today in Daytona, with the first official ROAR test starting on Friday 20 January 2023, with the 24 hours race being run on the following weekend.
