Pfaff Motorsports will enter the GTD Pro category in the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with an all-European line-up.
The Canadian team has once again received Porsche drivers of the very best quality, just like they had in 2022, where Frenchman Mathieu Jaminet and Aussie racer Matt Campbell secured the GTD Pro title – following their GTD title won in 2021 by Belgian Laurens Vanthoor and Canadian Zacherie Robichon.
The Porsche wending machine anno 2023 has chosen Frenchman Patrick Pilet and Austrian Klaus Bachler for the task, while Laurens Vanthoor will help them out at the endurance rounds.
Bachler hasn’t done a full IMSA season until now, but has helped out at various endurance rounds before. He has a lot of experience from the European tracks, where the most recent seasons primarily have been focused on ADAC GT Masters.
Pilet will return to the IMSA series, where he previously raced at Porsche in the GTLM category. He has most recently done a lot of LMP2 racing for IDEC Sport in the European Le Mans Series, but has kept his Porsche ties, which he is awarded for with a full American season.
The team will have the first test with their brand new 992 spec Porsche 911 GT3 R this weekend at Daytona International Speedway.
