Hertz Team JOTA will move to Cadillac for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship.
The British team will be called Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, where they will take over the factory deal from Chip Ganassi Racing.
That will double the number of Cadillac V-Series.R LMDh cars from one to two in the FIA WEC, where CGR so far only has been willing to run a single car in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA WEC respectively. It was announced earlier this year, that CGR no longer will run Cadillac’s in FIA WEC or IMSA following this season.
Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA will continue with their current numbers 12 and 38, but there are no drivers confirmed for the programme yet.
The current drivers are Callum Ilott, Will Stevens, Norman Nato, Oliver Rasmussen, Jenson Button, and Phil Hanson in the two cars, but there is no guarantee for any of those to continue. But there have been other General Motors links for both Ilott and Button, who have raced in the NTT IndyCar Series, and the Garage 56 project in the Chevrolet Camaro at Le Mans 2023.
Hertz Team JOTA will split ways with Porsche. The team was the first team to run in the FIA WEC with a privateer Porsche, followed by Proton Competition a few months later. Hertz Team JOTA was the first privateer to win in the Hypercar category with an LMDh car, when car #12 claimed the victory at Spa Francorchamps in May 2024.
Cadillac Racing has not yet announced their new partners in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
