Jules Gounon will get an additional race in the FIA World Endurance Championship 2024.
Gounon is the reserve driver at Alpine Endurance Team, and he has already been active twice this year, at Imola and Spa Francorchamps, since he had to replace the back injured Ferdinand Habsburg.
The team has announced, that it already was planned prior to the start of the season, that Gounon would do the upcoming race at Fuji International Speedway in Japan, where he is going to replace Paul-Loup Chatin.
He didn’t get much race time, in the two previous outings he had, with just shy of 50 minutes at Imola, and just over half an hour at Spa Francorchamps. That was so little running in the car during the race, that he wasn’t eligble for scoring points for the championship. Not that it mattered that much anyway, since the team finished outside the points and in 9th position respectively.
Jules Gounon will be sharing car #35 with Ferdinand Habsburg and Charles Milesi. The latter did a very very good job last weekend at Circuit Of The Americas, securing a 5th place finish for the team.
The 6 Hours of Fuji will be run on Sunday 15 September 2024.
