Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA has revealed the 6 drivers for the 2025 team.
The British team will become the factory team for Cadillac in the FIA World Endurance Championship, and will be a mix of old JOTA drivers from 2024, and some associated with Cadillac.
The team has not revealed the exact pairing of the drivers yet.
Will Stevens, Jenson Button, and Norman Nato were JOTA drivers in 2024, where the team participated in the Hypercar category with two Porsche 963 racers in the cup for the privateers, which car #12 won and car #38 finished second in the standings.
Earl Bamber, Sebastien Bourdais, and Alexander Lynn will join the team from Cadillac Racing, where they raced for Chip Ganassi Racing. Bamber and Lynn was a fixed pairing in the FIA WEC in 2023 and 2024, while Bourdias has primarily raced for the team in the IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship, with a few FIA WEC outings.
We already know that Stevens and Lynn will help out at Wayne Taylor Racing in IMSA 2025, when they need a third driver on their cars. Bourdais will be racing LMP2 for Tower Motorsport in IMSA, so won’t be doing as many races onboard the V-Series.R car.
Earl Bamber will be super busy since he already was announced as a full-season driver for Action Express Racing in their Cadillac Whelen #31 in IMSA.
With the announcement today, we know that Oliver Rasmussen no longer will be a part of the team. The Dane has raced for JOTA Sport for the past three seasons, starting out with two years in LMP2 in the FIA WEC, before being upgraded to Hypercar driver in 2024. Rasmussen already revealed to Racing24-7.net two weeks ago in Bahrain, that he had not signed a deal for 2025, so we have to wait and see, where he pops up in 2025.
Phil Hanson will switch to Ferrari AF Corse #83 in the Hypercar category, who once again will race in the privateer cup in 2025. The team won overall at COTA earlier this year with Robert Kubica, Robert Shwartzman, og Yifei Ye behind the wheel.
Callum Ilott was the last of the 2024 drivers at JOTA, but he won’t be there in 2025. The British racing driver will not be without a job, since he has signed a deal with Prema Racing in the NTT IndyCar Series, which he already competed in, prior to his sportscar entrance for 2024. Ilott and Stevens won the 6 Hours at Spa Francorchamps back in May, and was the first privateer in the Hypercar category, to win overall.
The FIA World Endurance Championship 2025 starts on 28 February at Losail International Circuit in Qatar, with testing in the days leading up to it.
