Coming into the FIA World Endurance Championship season finale 2025, there is still a slim chance for Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA to take home the manufacturer’s title for Cadillac.
Racing24-7.net met up with Sebastien Bourdais, driver of the #38, to hear about his view on the weekend and what lies ahead.
You’re coming into this weekend with still a theoretical chance of winning the constructors’ title for Cadillac. How big do you think the chances are for that?
“I don’t know. I really haven’t thought about it very much because, yeah, because mathematically, it’s still possible, but so is a meteorite hitting the racetrack. So, you know, it’s just. I think at some point you just have to focus on, you know, your own destiny, and if things align, and by some kind of miracle, you end up winning the championship, you know, it’ll be a heck of a headline.
But all you can do is give your best, and in that particular case, something seriously wrong needs to happen to our competitors.”
And you need the 1-2
“Exactly so, you know. It’s like they need to take all of themselves out on the first corner, or something drastic needs to happen during the race, and we need to have a lot of things going our way to end up, p1 p2 so yeah. Maybe it’s highly unlikely, but, you know, just take the green flag. Give yourself the best chance to have a good result, and go from there.”

After racing in IMSA for so many seasons, what is it like to return to work and do a full season in the top class?
“Yeah. I mean, it’s definitely been a bit of a challenge and an adaptation. You know, you don’t drive a lot, you don’t test a lot, you don’t have a lot of tires, so you have to adapt very fast.
Yeah, I’d say it’s definitely been a little bit more challenging than, you know, I would have liked, but it’s also a good challenge, personally, to up your game and keep learning things, although you’re 46 years old,”
Are you able to say anything about your plans for next year?
“I don’t know (looking at Serge) – I mean, I don’t really plan on any changes.”
Both here and in IMSA?
“Yeah”
