Laursen in for another season in ELMS

Conrad Laursen will once again be on the entry list for the European Le Mans Series, when the 2026 season kicks off in two weeks’ time in Spain.

This is the fourth season for the just 19-year-old racing driver.

After a handful of seasons in karting, he moved into car racing in 2020, competing in the Danish Formula 4 Championship, where he claimed the Championship in the very first go.

He went on to race in the Italian Championship for 2021, and added another Italian season + German and UAE season in 2022.

That was the final season without a roof above his head, before moving into the Asian Le Mans Series over the 2022/23 winter alongside his dad Jonny Laursen, in a Ferrari 488 GT3. They went on to racing in European Le Mans Series 2023 in a GTE car, with Ferrari works driver Nicklas Nielsen as the third driver.

2024 was another ELMS season with the family team Formula Racing, where dad and lad once again teamed up with Nicklas, but now in a 296 GT3. They were initially on the reserve list for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but took over the Spirit of Race car, with Jordan Taylor being the third driver. Nielsen was already occupied in the Ferrari Hypercar – where he won the big race.

After having the father-son experience at Le Mans, Jonny decided to leave the ELMS following the final race of the year, but Conrad joined the AF Corse outfit with Charles-Henri Samani and Davide Rigon. He had raced with the Italian team in the Asian Le Mans Series during the winter season too.

The three drivers are together once again for 2026, where they are trying to compete for the LMGT3 title. Samani is the Bronze rated driver, so a lot of the results are down to his opening stint, and trying to avoid making mistakes. If he can do that, the two other drivers have a lot to work with, battling with the top pilots.

The European Le Mans Series 2026 starts with test days on April 6 and 7 at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with the 4 hours opening race being run on Sunday 12 April 2026 on the very same track.
