Lynn to miss Imola and Spa

Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA will only have to drivers for each of their Cadillac V-Series.R cars, for the opening round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship season.

Alex Lynn has undergone a planned procedure for a neck injury, that he has been nursing since the end of 2024. It didn’t hamper him too much, since he claimed the Pole Position for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June 2025, and the first FIA WEC victory for Cadillac at the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo in Brazil.

That leaves Norman Nato and Will Stevens as the sole drivers on car #12 at Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Italien, and three weeks later at Spa Francorhamps in Belgium.

They decide to do the procedure now, so it wouldn’t cause him in troubles in a busy second end of the year, with the 24 Hours of Le Mans, plus the planned 10 hours in Qatar and 8 hours in Bahrain, in addition to the 6 hours races in Brazil, USA and Japan.

Car #38 for Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA only consists of two drivers as well at Imola, because Jack Aitken is racing in Long Beach in the Whelen Cadillac in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. He will however be back at Spa Francorchamps, where there is no clash with IMSA.

Racing24-7.net wishes a speedy recovery for Alex Lynn.

FIA World Endurance Championship 2026 starts on Tuesday 14 April with the Prologue, while race weekend itself runs from Friday until Sunday 19 April.
