AO welcomes Rockie

AO by TF #99 has revealed their design for the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans 2026.

The team has worked together with Mobil 1 to create a new character, to the universe of fantasy animals, that have been the base of AO designs for the past years.

The dinosaur Rexy has been doing both the FIA WEC and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Champion for the past seasons, in both GTE and GTD Porsche. That car was joined by Spike the LMP2 dragon in both IMSA and European Le Mans Series. Rexy has sometimes had a weekend off, and is replaced by the pink sister dino Roxy. That car drove at Sebring and Long Beach this year, and in the past too.

PJ Hyett, Dane Cameron and James Allen will be racing Rockie the Pegasus at this year’s 24-hour race.

The team are the defending champions of the race in the LMP2 Pro/Am category, but it will be with a different line-up compared to 2025. It was announced earlier today, that James Allen replaces Louis Deletraz, who has been called up for Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA. Hyett and Cameron have raced together since the start of the 2025 season, in both IMSA and ELMS. They ended up winning both titles, and would have loved to bring Rexy back to Le Mans. That wish wasn’t granted, since you have to enter the category, where you win the spot, and Rexy was sadly too far back in line for a LMGT3 entry.

The 2026 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be run on 13-14 June, with test day on 7 June, and several test- and qualifying sessions during race week.
