TF Sport Corvette #2 announced a very late driver change, prior to the 24 Hours of Le Mans scrutineering, with Lorcan Hanafin being named in the car, which runs in the JMR colors, that we have previously seen in the Asian Le Mans Series this winter.
Hanafin shares the Corvette with Prince Jeffrey Ibrahim and Ben Green.
Racing24-7.net had a brief talk with him regarding this chance to race at Le Mans for 2026.
A very last minute deal. Was it just as last minute for you, as it was announced?
“Pretty much, yeah. So it was only a couple of weeks ago, where I got the call up to do Le Mans. I’m still wearing Jeffrey’s suits, so my suits arrive in a couple of days, so it should all be good for the race, but yeah, so very last minute, but very, very happy to be here. Very honored to have got the drive, and the job, so looking forward to hitting the track.”

Have you been able to test with the team?
“No testing, no. So just jumping in. I’m used to the Corvette from from last year in GT World Challenge Europe, so I have something – I have quite a lot of experience in the Corvette, and also on the Goodyear tire, which I’ve been racing in the ELMS and FIA WEC last year, for the past three years. So, for me, all the ingredients are there. I just need to make sure the recipe comes out with a good product.”
Yeah, so it’s going to be interesting to see how the team gel and finding a set up that works well, right?
“Yeah, exactly. You know, TF have had fantastic success around here in the past, obviously, with the podium last year as well. So I’m sure they’ll have lots of help from them, and make sure that everyone’s up to speed. And by the time, when the green flag flies on Saturday, we’ll be in a good window.”
The JMR outfit set the 23rd fastest time of the 25 competitors in both testing sessions on Sunday, so the team has a bit of a job to do, prior to the race, starting on Saturday afternoon 16.00 CET.
