Robert Shwartzman will be a new works driver for Peugeot TotalEnergies in the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The former Formula 2 and Indycar driver will be a full-season driver for the French outfit from 2027 onwards, making his return to the FIA WEC.
Shwartzman was part of the Ferrari junior programme, and raced the very first season of the yellow Ferrari 499P in the FIA WEC, together with Yifei Ye and Robert Kubica, before making the switch to Indycar with Prema Racing.

He managed to claim Pole Position for the 2025 edition of Indianapolis 500, but that wasn’t enough to save the team, who were under a lot of pressure budget wise. Neither he nor the team competed in the 2026 season, being on the sideline, without doing any racing at all.
He will be start testing soon, ahead of the 2027 season.
Peugeot TotalEnergies haven’t announced which driver he is replacing, but there are changes expected amongst the current six drivers of the 9X8 model.
