Lynn re-hired by Jaguar

Alexander Lynn has once again been hired by Panasonic Jaguar Racing in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship. The Brit drove 7 races for the team in the 2018/19 season, but he won’t be there for a race seat for now. Instead he has been hired as a reserve- and test driver for the British team. Lynn didn’t really have a good time in the Formula E, and was replaced by James Calado, who also had a tough start to the 2019/20 season, almost two months ago in Saudi Arabia.…

Formula E granted World Championship status

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship has been granted World Championship status from the coming 2020/21 season onwards. The members for the FIA World Motorsport Council have decided to upgrade the series an official championship level, after “just” being run as an FIA series since its inaugural season in 2014/15. The new status does, however, mean that ABB will disappear from the name of the series, since World Championships can’t have a title sponsor as part of the official name, according to FIA rules. The series has had a big…

There are some adjustments to the ABB FIA Formula E Championship schedule for Season 6. There has been quite a bit of mixing and matching to the original schedule, that was released 4 months ago. The opening round and season finale has been left unchanged, but plenty of changes mid-season. We got an almost two-month long break from the opening round in Saudi Arabia until Chile, with another month until the next race in Mexico. The next few races are split by two or three weeks, until a one months…

Panasonic Jaguar Racing will have a new driver in the car, when the 6th season of ABB FIA Formula E Championship starts in November. 30 year-old James Calado will team up with Mitch Evans, and thereby replace Alexander Lynn, who took over the seat halfway through the previous season, after Nelson Piquet Jr. left the team. This will be the fourth season for Jaguar in the Formula E series, but they are still lacking some major results, other than a single podium in their second season, and a single win…

Indonesia new Formula E country

ABB FIA Formula E Championship will add another new country to the schedule, when the series goes to Indonesia in 2020. The race on 6 June will be run on the streets of Jakarta, which is one of the most traffic congested cities in the world. The most common form of transport isn’t cars but motorbikes, but it still adds to poor air quality. So there is a big need of thinking green in this specific country, and the hope is to put focus on that by running an electric…

But it was Sebastien Buemi, who took Pole Position ahead of Pascal Wehrlein, Alex Lynn,…
