Four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel will be testing for Porsche Penske Motorsport.
The German will be a part of the 36-hour endurance test, that the German outfit will do at Motorland Aragon in Spain, as preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
It is however not determined yet, if he is going to race for the team, or if it’s only a test.
He has already done the first meters in the 963, since he did a short Rollout in Weissach, to check all systems. In addition to that, he has spend some hours in the simulator, to prepare for the upcoming test, and to get used to all the systems on the LMDh car.
The team has had an incredible start to 2024, with victory in both the opening rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship. They have a third car entered for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in addition to their two full season FIA WEC cars.
Other than Vettel, the six regular FIA WEC drivers participate in the test as well – Matt Campbell, Michael Christensen, Frederic Makowiecki, Kevin Estre, Andre Lotterer and Laurens Vanthoor.
The next round of the FIA WEC is 21 April 2024 at Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari i Imola, Italy.
