Long term planning for N24

ADAC Zurich 24 Hours of Nürburgring have been busy with the long term planning.

Just one month ago, the 2018 date was announced, but the race organization have decided to release the preliminary 2019-2023 dates too.

The race will be run in either the Corpus Christi or the Christ’s ascension national holidays.

The reason for the dates to be released now is due to another big event at the Nürburgring, i.e. the big rock festival, Rock Am Ring. This year some of the vital parking spots near the paddock area were occupied by equipment for the rock festival, and the organizers of both events wants to prevent that in the future by announcing dates early.

There has already been some critical talk about the 2022 date, since there is a possibility for it to clash with the 24 Hours of Le Mans. You have to mention that the French organizers, ACO, haven’t announced any dates yet. But traditionally the race will happen on that exact weekend. It’s still to be announced – and almost 5 years into the future from now.

The dates announced today are:

10 – 13 May 2018
20 – 23 June 2019
21 – 24 May 2020
03 – 06 June 2021
16 – 19 June 2022
08 – 11 June 2023
