VLN round 4 – Controversy & Uncertainty

Frikadelli racing continued their good form from last time out, with Norbert Siedler securing pole position for a very warm fourth VLN round of the year, the front row to himself as the #35 BMW M6 would be disqualified from qualifying. 136 cars set a time in qualifying, but with a slimmed down SP9/GT3 class, the opportunity was there for some of the lower class cars to get a good showing. The Verizon IndyCar Series was back on the ovals, when Iowa Corn 300 was the 11th round of the year. Will Power had grabbed Pole Position ahead of Josef Newgarden while Andretti Autosport driver Ryan Hunter-Reay was the only guy to squeeze in front of the last Team Penske car with Simon Pagenaud. Alexander Rossi started P5, right ahead of Championship leader Scott Dixon, and the sensational rookie of the year, Robert Wickens. Florian Latorre continued his progress through the season, when the 4th round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup was run at Silverstone. The young French driver had grabbed Pole Position for the race this Sunday, ahead of the defending Championship Michael Ammermüller and Dylan Pereira. Mattia Drudi was in fourth ahead of the local guest driver Tom Wrigley, surprising everybody with fifth fastest time, right ahead of Julien Andlauer.
