Weather once again played a part, when the season’s 14th round was run at the Italian Misano. The qualifying was done under pouring rain, where Loic Duval for Audi Sport was the fastest man. It was the Frenchman’s first Pole Position in DTM, after one and a half season that had more challenges than success. Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup was back from their summer holiday, when the 7th round of the year was run at Spa Francorchamps in Belgium. Thomas Preining had secured Pole Position for the second weekend in a row, while Julien Andlauer made it an all Porsche Junior first row. Larry ten Voorde had grabbed third ahead of Zaid Ashkanani. Strategy decided the night race at Gateway

Verizon IndyCar Series arrived at Gateway Motorsports Park near St. Louis in Illinois for the 15th round in the calendar. The qualifying on Saturday was cancelled due to rain, so the starting grid would follow the positions in the championship. Thus Scott Dixon would start from Pole Position ahead of Alexander Rossi, Josef Newgarden, Will Power, Ryan Hunter-Reay, and Simon Pagenaud. The first DTM race in the dark was run in Italian Misano, where 19 drivers were ready to drive under the floodlights. The round was also the 13th in this year’s championship. The qualifying had extra challenges for the drivers due to rain, which tripped some of the drivers.
