The first qualifying of the year for the European Le Mans Series was run at Paul Ricard near Le Castellet in the south of France. The GTE category was first on track. The qualifying for the Michelin Le Mans Cup was run on a slightly overcast, but dry and warm track. First up was the eight GT3 cars, where IDEC Sport #17 was finally repaired, after their Mercedes-AMG GT3 had a shunt earlier in the week. Free practice 2 at Paul Ricard

It was a free practice 2 for the European Le Mans Series without any major dramas. BHK Motosport #35 had to be transported back to the pits with a technical issue, but nothing else spectacular. United Autosports #32 with Job van Uitert, Alex Brundle and Will Owen was the fastest car, ahead of G-Drive Racing #26 with Mikkel Jensen, Nyck de Vries and Jean-Eric Vergne, while the second United Autosports #22 with Phil Hanson and Filipe Albuquerque was third fastest car.
