Darren Turner on double duty at Silverstone

Darren Turner will be a very busy man when the first round of the FIA World Endurance Championship and the European Le Mans Series will race at Silverstone in one week’s time.

Not only will he share the Aston Martin Racing number 95 with Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen in WEC, but he will substitute for Jonny Adam at Beechdean Aston Martin number 99 in ELMS.

Adam will be participating in British GT at Brands Hatch and therefore can’t be at Silverstone.

British GT in particular put a great emphasis on the drivers on the entry list actually turning up for the races. Last year Adam got a huge fine for not showing up for a British GT round because he was a backup for Christoffer Nygaard at Spa in WEC the same weekend. The organizers SRO didn’t like that at all, and gave Adam a huge fine. Aston Martin wants to avoid that happening again this year, so instead they have decided to sub in Turner for this weekend at Silverstone.
