The IndyCar race in Long Beach can sometimes develop into pure survival due to many Safety Car periods, accidents and alternative pitstop strategies. That wasn’t the case this year in the third round of the Verizon IndyCar Series was run on the street circuit. Sunday race with a bit more spark

While the opening round of the ADAC GT Masters was run in sunshine, the Sunday race was run under a thick cloud cover at the Oschersleben track. Lamborghini had taken Pole Position with the GRT Grasser Racing Team #82 ahead ORANGE1 by GRT Grasser #63 and Phoenix Racing Audi #6. Lottery in Long Beach

Round 3 of this year’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship was run in Long Beach, where the narrow street course made the 100 minutes of racing to somewhat of a lottery. Juan Pablo Montoya had taken Pole Position in the Acura Team Penske #6, ahead of Whelen Engineering Cadillac #31 and Mazda Team Joest #55, while Joey Hand in the Ford Chip Ganassi Racing #66 had grabbed Pole Position in GTLM ahead of Porsche #912 and #911. Eventful opening race in ELMS

It was a very eventful opening race, when the European Le Mans Series drove their first race of the year at Paul Ricard in the south of France. IDEC Sport #28 started from Pole Position in the LMP2 category while M.Racing – YMR #19 had been the fastest car in the LMP3 category. Proton Competition Porsche #88 had been fastest in GTE, grabbing the first place in their brand new Porsche 911 RSR. The battle was on from turn one. The ADAC Formula 4 held their opening round at Oschersleben near Magdeburg, and it was in mixed weather conditions. The track dried more and more for every session that was run. Lirim Zendeli was on Pole Position for Race 1 ahead of Mick Wishofer and Enzo Fittipaldi.
