Accidents marred the race at Hungaroring

The second DTM race of the weekend at Hungaroring became a very dramatic affair, unfortunately not on the track, but in the pits – more about that later. Lucas Auer had taken Pole Position ahead of Pascal Wehrlein, Paul di Resta, Edoardo Mortara and Gary Paffett. Rene Rast on P6 was the first non-Mercedes driver, while we had to look down to Timo Glock in P8 as the first BMW driver. Le Mans test day – afternoon

The afternoon session started under slightly overcast skies, with a potential of rain later in the day. So the teams were quick to get onto the track. Fernando Alonso improved on his own best time in the Toyota Gazoo Racing #8, and got closer to under 3:20. Spirit of Race Ferrari #54 went fastest in the GTE Am, but now far ahead of Clearwater Racing Ferrari #61 and Dempsey-Proton Racing #77. Le Mans test day – morning session

The first part of the test started under perfect blue skies. Some cars went onto the track right way after the green flag. Toyota Gazoo Racing was the first to top the timing sheets, but with some laptimes that weren’t representative for the car’s actual speed. You have to remember that the track was very green and slow at the start of each day. Loads of duels in Detroit

The first part of the Chevrolet Duel in Detroit was run on Saturday, being the 7th round of the Verizon IndyCar Series. Marco Andretti had taken Pole Position for the race, which was his first Pole since Milwaukee 2013! Scott Dixon had secured second position, ahead of Robert Wickens, Alexander Rossi and Ryan Hunter-Reay. Championship leader Will Power was starting the race from P6.
