Verizon IndyCar Series was back at Portland International Raceway, which hasn’t hosted a race in the highest formula car class in the US since 2007. Will Power grabbed Pole Position ahead of his Team Penske teammate Josef Newgarden, while Andretti Autosports’ Alexander Rossi would start from third position. The FIA World Rallycross Championship had their 8th round of the season today in the French city of Loheac. The Team Peugeot Total team hoped to do well at their home track, but the competition from Germany, in the shape of Audi Sport represented by EKS Audi Sport and Volkswagen with PSRX Volkswagen Sweden, would do everything to prevent that. The TDS Racing team had a bit of an issue ahead of the 6 Hours of Fuji FIA World Endurance Championship race, which will be run on 14 October. Pink weekend at Monza

The 8th round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup was run at the ultra fast Monza track in Italy. Championship leader Michael Ammermüller had grabbed Pole Position ahead of his teammate Thomas Preining, local hero Mattia Drudi, Zaid Ashkanani and number two in the Championship, Nick Yelloly. Ammermüller made the best getaway, but was challenged by Preining towards the first chicane. The two drivers were almost bumping each other through the chicane, but Ammermüller had to drop to P2.
