Mixed weather in ELMS practices

It’s been a somewhat mixed start to the European Le Mans Series weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

The weather has been changing both Friday and Saturday, with a few showers and low-hanging clouds.

Free Practice 1 ended up with United Autosports #22 fastest amongst the LMP2 cars, ahead of G-Drive Racing #26, and with the fastest LMP2 Pro Am var on P3 overall – DragonSpeed USA #21.

Amongst the LMP3 cars, we had DKR Engineering #4 fastest, ahead of United Autosports #2 and #3. In GTE it was AF Corse Ferrari #88 leading Iron Lynx Ferrari #60 and #80.

Prior to the Bronze test later in the afternoon, there has been a rainshower, but the tarmac was dry again. G-Drive Racing #25 was the fastest LMP2 Pro/Am car, ahead of Racing Team Turkey #34, and Cool Racing #37. Team Virage #20 was quickest amongst the LMP3 field, ahead of Cool Racing #19, and United Autosports #2. AF Corse Ferrari #88 was the fastest GTE car, ahead of Spirit Of Race Ferrari #55, and JMW Motorsport Ferrari #66.

It had been raining between Friday and Saturday, so FP2 started out on the wet tarmac, but it didn’t take long for a dry line to arrive.

Algarve Pro Racing #24 was quickest amongst the LMP2 cars, ahead of the fastest LMP2 Pro/Am car G-Drive Racing #25, and United Autosports #22.

Team Virage #20 was once again top of LMP3, ahead of United Autosports #3, and Eurointernational #11. The GTE field had AF Corse Ferrari #88 fastest once again, ahead of Iron Lynx Ferrari #80 and #83.

It was three very calm sessions, without any major interruptions. There were a few visitors in the gravel, but nothing too bad.
