First two Lambo drivers announced

Lamborghini has announced their first two drivers for their upcoming LMDh programme.

It comes to no surprise, that those two drivers are Mirko Bortolotti and Andrea Caldarelli, since those two has been synonymous with the Italian brand for many seasons.

Bortolotti had a single season with Audi in 2020, before returning to the Italian brand, that he has raced with since 2014, and been official works driver for since 2015 – except for 2020.

Caldarelli has been part of the brand since 2017, and has won the Blancpain GT Series, Daytona 24 Timer and Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS, plus a lot of other things.

The two Italians will do the testing, before the car will make its debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship in the Hypercar category, and in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the GTP category in 2024. It’s not yet been announced, what teams are going to run the Ligier build cars, but the rumours are that it will be two different outfits on each side of the Atlantic – and not necessarily currently associated with Lamborghini.
