Pfaff switches brand

Pfaff Motorsports has chosen to switch brand, when the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season is over.

The team has been associated with Porsche, ever since they entered IWSC in 2019.

They are however the official McLaren importer in Canada since 2012, including two dealerships in Toronto and Vancouver. So now they have chosen to switch to the British marque, to compete in the GTD Pro category with a single car in 2024.

The team won the GTD title in 2021, and then moved up to the GTD Pro category, claiming that title in 2022.

2023 has not been as planned, with Porsche generally having a tough start to the year, with the brand new 911 GT3.R in 992 spec lacking pace for the first few weekends. They still somehow managed to pull a win at Sebring out of the bag, as their only for 2023 so far. So the championship was off the radar at a very early point, with their focus now going towards 2024.

They will need to bring two new drivers to the team as well, since the current drivers, Klaus Bachler and Patrick Pilet, both are Porsche works drivers.

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship 2023 concludes this Saturday at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.
