Italian Edoardo Mortara won the season opener in DTM at Hockenheimring.
It was his Audi teammate Nico Müller who started from Pole Position. But already on the first lap, Mortara managed to get past and after that, had the full field under control.
Timo Glock and Daniel Juncadella had a collision where both ended up in the gravel. There had to be a slow zone in place while the cars were removed.
Later Maximilian Götz ended his race in the gravel and another slow zone had to be applied for a few laps.
After that it was an pretty uneventful race.
The final 7 laps, there was no change to the top 7 positions.
After the checkered flag fell after 25 laps, Mortara crossed the line as the first guy with Robert Wickens in 2nd and Nico Müller in 3rd.
The next race will be run tomorrow, Sunday.
