Dempsey-Proton Racing and Gulf Racing change their tire supplier to Dunlop for this years FIA WEC campaign.
Porsche has lately been a Michelin team, and that continues in the LMP1 and GTE-Pro team, but the privateer will now try out the British brand. Porsche has however been a Dunlop team before, when they delivered tires for the German brand in the 80’s and 90’s and claimed nine Le Mans victories on the way.
In the same breath the team confirmed that they participate with 2015 versions of the Porsche 911 RSR GTE car. The 2016 model wasn’t a competitive weapon, so they went safe and stuck with the 2015 model, which is a very good choice in the GTE-Am category.
Proton Racing already knows Dunlop from the ELMS, where they have been competing with them as the mandatory tire supplier since 2015.
