Wayne Boyd moves up

Wayne Boyd will move up in the United Autosports ranks.

The Northern Irishman has already driven two seasons for the team in the European Le Mans Series, where he finished fifth and third respectively in the LMP3 Championship.

He will participate in the LMP2 category in 2018, where he will share the Ligier JS P217 Gibson #32 with Will Owen and Hugo de Sadeleer. That will be a car with all Silver ranked drivers.

Boyd has already had his first test in the car, which happened at Aragon in Spain, back in November.

He will be back in the car in two weeks’ time, when the Prologue will be run at Paul Ricard, prior to the season start in three weeks’ time.

United Autosports has an entry to the 24 Hours of Le Mans too, but Wayne Boyd hasn’t been confirmed for that race just yet.

The season starts at Paul Ricard in France on 15 April.
