There will be a few changes to the FIA World Endurance Championship 2019/20 calendar.
A preliminary calendar was released in August, at the Silverstone round, and it’s still going to be the same locations, that the sportscar series will visit, but with a few date changes.
The race in Japan has been moved forward one week, to avoid a date clash with the Formula 1 race at Suzuka. As a bi-product, a FIA WEC clash with Petit Le Mans 2019 in the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship will be avoided, too, which many teams and drivers are unhappy about in the current season.
The changes also gives a small change at the China round in November, which will be moved forward one week as well. Previously there was a clash with the race in Macau, where some of the GT teams, drivers and marshals etc would have been double booked.
The calendar for 2019/20 looks like this – subject to approval by the FIA World Motorsport Council:
01 September 2019 4 Hours of Silverstone (Great Britain)
06 October 2019 6 Hours of Fuji (Japan)
10 November 2019 4 Hours of Shanghai (China)
