ABB FIA Formula E Championship has shown the car for the upcoming season, which is an upgrade from the current car.
The electric series has raced the Generation 2 car since the 2018/19 season, eliminating the car swaps. That was a big step for the series, where the drivers had to pit and swap cars, with the older version of the car.

There closed wheel arches are gone on the new car, just like on every other single-seater. There are changes to the rear wing as well, and a shark fin has been put on the back of the engine cover, to prevent the cars flying, in case of a sideways skid.
These are purely bodywork upgrades on the cars, but the teams will have a chance to upgrade their electrical motors and other small changes. But the chassis itself remains the same.
The Gen 1 chassis also got an upgrade after the first two seasons, before getting another two seasons
The plan for the current Gen 2 chassis is to continue in 2020/21 and 2021/22, with a brand new car being introduced for the 2022/23 season, with even more technology being opened up on the cars.
